I am so happy to see this site. Not a day goes by while listening to Kink that I do not think of Les..Rita, I can not imagine the loss you must endure daily. On 09-09-09 I thought how much Les would have loved the AlphaBEATical, Beatles all day. The station is locally owned, how much would he have loved that? My hope for you, Rita, is that each day, at least one second is easier than the day before. Although we have never met, I wonder how you are, Les did that, made us care about the world around us and the people in it. I believe that Les is so proud of you for starting this site and the foundation..I wish you peace in your heart and soul.

Like my friend Terry says "Les is right beside you"and so are the many that make up Portland's Radio Industry. The cool thing about Les was the fact that he could roll with the changes. Even when I was doing the news. If something went wrong (and always in my case it did)he would calmly move on to the next thing on the agenda. And no talking down to as MANY men in radio would have (and have) done. Gentle Les and Gentleman.

Thanks so much Rita, and all those behind this effort. I was thinking about Les yesterday, reflecting on his spirit and the inspiration he was to me in radio. But it goes beyond that. You put it so beautifully, his was a very eager, giving nature, ready to lend a hand or his voice to causes he believed in. We shared a love of dogs and an understanding of how delicate life can be. I was also thinking of you Rita, knowing that anniversaries, especially the first ones, can be bittersweet. Know that we're also thinking and praying for you as you travel this road without Les right at your side, but always in your heart.

Hugs
